Lecturer and researcher at the Department of Public Communications, Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU).
PhD in Political Science, VMU (2010). She also holds MA Degree in Communication and Information (2005) and BA in Lithuanian Philology (2003) from the same university. In 2010, she defended her PhD Dissertation on "EU Communication Policy and its Implementation on the National Level: The Case of the Baltic States". Since 2005, works at VMU as a lecturer and researcher; in 2005-2010, at the university she also served as Senior PR Officer responsible for media relations and online communication projects (Office of Public Communications). Since 2008, she is also a member of the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy Council.
Courses taught at VMU: "Introduction to Public Relations" (BA), "Introduction to Public Communication Studies" (BA), "Media and Communication in the Baltic States" (BA), "Public Communication Contexts and Cultures" (BA.), "Globalisation and International Communication" (BA), "Communication in the Modernity" (MA), "Communication Cultures" (MA), "Creative Online Writing" (MA). Aside from teaching she was involved in creating new study programs such as MA Program of "Integrated Communications" (in 2006), BA Program of "Public Communications" (in 2009) and is a commitee member of several of them ("Public Communications", "Journalism and Media Analysis").
In 2007-2009, she coodinated and was one of the main organisers of several international summer schools and courses for communication and journalism students (European Summer Academy "Reporting Europe from Home", etc.), sponsored by the Representation of European Commission in Lithuania, the NordPlus Neighbor Program, etc.
Research interests: professionalisation of political communication, mediatization of politics, political reporting, EU Communication Policy, European Public Sphere and European reporting, communication cultures, media audience studies. Since 2006, as researcher participates in international research projects (funded by EU 6th FP, NordPlus Program, Lithuanian Research Council, etc.): "AIM: Adequate Information Management in Europe" (2004-2007), "CINEFOGO: Civil Society and New Forms of Governance in Europe – the Making of European Citizenship" (2005-2009), "InterLinks10.NET: Network of Baltic and Nordic Journalism Schools", (2005–2009), "Journalism in Lithuania: Context and Culture" (2011-2012). Since 2012, she is the main coordinator of the research network at VMU "European Public Sphere: Politics, Communication, Discourse". Also, she is one of the main coordinators of different online projects dedicated to media research and studies such as Mediaresearch.lt, Balticmedia.eu, Mediatransformations.eu, Mediastudies.lt, VDU.lt/ESA, etc.
In 2006 and 2007, for short periods visited the Erich Brost Institute for Journalism in Europe at the University of Dortmund (Germany) where she was using the resources of the European Public Sphere Research Data Base for her own PhD research. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, as a PhD student was granted a state scholarship from the Lithuanian National Science and Study Fund. In 2010, she was nominated as one of the most productive and perspective young reasearchers in social sciences at VMU. In May 2011, she was a visiting teacher at the Carlos III Madrid University (Spain).
A member of academic and professional associations, such as LAMIDA: Lithuanian Universities' Public Relations Association (since 2006), BAMR: Baltic Association for Media Research (since 2004), ECREA: European Communication Research and Education Association (since 2009); since 2007, she is a member and the country representative of ECREA Young Scholars Network; since 2011, she is a member and country correspondent of ECREA's "CEE Network".
Since 2012, she is the Associate Editor of the international academic peer-rewied journal "Media Transformations/Medijų transformacijos".
